How can I switch the replay file to avi or other extensions that i can watch in regural players?

you mean the w3g file from replay folder?
it cant be done but you can use any parser which helps browsing and viewing the games, best is Dota replay manager and great is to use replay seeker, can speed more then 8x and 1/2x and you can use simple camera plugin to control your ingame camera from what angle you want
and if you want to make some movie use those and some record program like FRAPS..
