they have first 2 picks,they take pl and eza,what u do next?
what strategy will u use?what would be ur counter-picks?
lets say for eza+pl+sd+qop+seer tri top,quop mid seer bot,or tri bot w/e the rest of pick/positioning how do u stop the main cary from farming?pl eza pickers

ok,so u kill him once,twice...4 times lets say,but in lategame he will still rape,cuz decent team decent cary/and he will fuck ur supports on tri only by first skill+refill mana from eza

u got no pushers,from min 20-30 pl will farm lanes only with illus while eza seer qop can easily def

if you had a good wind player who can shackle .. he could shackle 2 heroes.you take another 3rd hero and it can be any stunner and preferred to be range.

Pl has to be focused fast, naix kills him easily, u can also pick storm so naix jumps in him and they kill pl even with 3k hp with standard items like orchid on storm and some deso armlet naix. U just have to watch on real one pl and have dusts all the time. Kotl in this case can be countered with clock/vs/nyx

that's the thing with " cancer lancer " you need to finish the game fast... if u wait for late game u gonna lose so go win early/mid and gg

u need battle fury to counter lancer. it gives splash dmg and will kill illusions, piece of cake..

Earth shaker helps as well , even lancer has dmg reduction.All AOE stunners (but big range stunners) are good vs lancer just to iniate fight vs him.

pl + eza pussy combo fanatic or alaiance(ex nth), i cant remember witch team,  pick it all time on tours, rly spaming combo...and navi goes antimage and magnus or bat vs pl, mag gives dmg to anti and + ulty and gg or bat catch pl
my pick would be gyro with 3rd max lvl and hard cary build(buterfly, manta, satanic, bkb and mkb) or alche with mojnir ( "mojnir" cant remember how its write xD )

Mate. you're talking about -cm game. There's ban phase. There are also alternating pick phases.

Option 1: ban Lancer or KotL (or both)
Option 2: if they first pick KotL + PL, nothing stops you from picking SD yourself. Using disruption for creating your own army of Lancers is actually a hell of a fun (+ can be lethal)
Option 3: Push the crap out of them. PL isn't a big factor for first 30 minutes.
Option 4: Magnus + Gyro or Magnus + AM can flat out destroy entire teams much faster than PL can, they provide nice sustained AoE damage to wipe out illusions, AM himself does decent job splitpushing, Gyro wipes out clusters of units easily
Option 5: Gank him, dust costs 180g, smoke even less
Option 6: Pick it before youe enemy picks it

Fun fact. According to dota-academy.com during last (current) season of G1-League (which is predominately Chinese, though Alliance is currently on 5-0 record in group stage):
Lancer won 6/18 matches the hero was picked in (that's 33%).
[KotL did 16/41 (39%).]

Meanwhile:
Lifestealer 25/41 (61%).
Lone Druid 24/44 (55%).
Gyrocopter 21/29 (72%).
Hell, even AM got 19/31 (61%).
[Leshrac, 20/28 (71%), he's support though.]
