Technical support / Lobby problem
« on: February 19, 2012, 17:56 »
I have had a format on this pc, but when I hooked up my external and clicked the eurobattle.reg I was able to start Warcraft III normally and get online. I do have the 2 maps from getdota.com and when I goto playdota.eu Channel and type /w playdota.eu !CheckBan I am not banned.

Still I get the same lobby kick.. I can even create games.. but I cannot join my own game.

PLs help.

I get autokicked when i try to join lobby

It can be only 2 reasons : You are either banned or you dont have latest supported DotA map. Check on stats page or in playdota.eu channel if you are banned (on stats page , type your name in Search tab , and you will get info about your account ; if you dont have DotA map, go to getdota.com and download it and put in your Map folder located in your W3 directory).

Feedback / Re: ban/unban

Cmon. What a selfish proposal...

it is not selfish at all and it will only put more burden on the gamers..not the moderators.
Gamers will actually have to goto the forum to make a ban request.. and im pretty sure bans will occur less likely for minor offenses. You will goto the forum to have someone banned if you think he deserves it.. not because everyone aspects you to ban him.

for examble if I make a noob game and score is 18/3 I am not going to ban people for leaving ;)
but nowadays I even get treathned with bans if I would not ban someone like this

I agree, but this has nothing to do with my suggestion which is only trying to help the people with good intensions and who are obviously victim if they have to wait for unban if they didnt deserved to be banned in the first place..

my suggestion suggests there will only be a ban request forum admins look into them and people who deserve it get banned. The people who play on this bot would have to do some trouble themselves and not leave it all to the admins.

making a ban request is lots of work and people wont do it if they suspect a disconnect or lag problem.. Nowadays its just !bl Leaver.. no matter the reason and I end up in the forum w8ing for hours/some times days..  to get unbanned.....

My suggestion.

I only got an hour or so to play DOTA and not even every day. The time im waiting for unban is really holding me back in my status. This time AGAIN Battlenet Disconnected me. Waiting, Waiting, Waiting, till the letters turn yellow and I think. (**** the host must lagged out), but noooooo Appearantly I did. While my ping is always below 50. (Im dutch)

Really I can understand battlenet being a free service and all, it aint perfect. So sometimes the software will end your game. Thuff luck, get over it. But if I have to wait to get unbanned all the time then I cannot even start a new game or enter a noob game, since they are all from this bot.

I strongly suggest looking into the banning methods some more and perhaps have all those admin who work very hard against a neverending bans and unbans story to actually evaluate ban requests only. People will request a ban and admins look into it. This way people will less likely be banned without a reason.

Also allot of noobs dont even know about this site. I think when your banned you should receive a Whisper before you get disconnected from PD.eu Bot linking you to this forum. Sorta like: "You have been banned, if you disagree goto www.playdota.eu.com and file an unban request.

Suggestion Board / Re: Banned for how long?

hmm your copmputer shut down in bad moment so try to fix it ..
Even if im not able to fix it, this should not get me banned
These things happen. You need proofs to show you didn't unplug.

Usually, everyone is innocent until someone demonstrate the opposite. In this case, it's you who must show you're innocent.
Proof? Look @ the link!! >>http://stats.playdota.eu/?p=gameinfo&gid=289052
I lost connection, It clearly logged it.

THATS CORRECT.
Show us that you were banned unfair and we can solve it then. Otherwise you are just another unhappy man.

Stupid system, there should be only ban requests. Then only people who deserve it get banned

I posted an unban request and got denied (http://playdota.eu/forum/index.php/topic,9046.msg28258.html#msg28258)
I looked @ the Rules (http://playdota.eu/forum/index.php/topic,1425.msg5531.html#msg5531)

I did not unplug.
I got disconnected.

Leaving after creeps spawn? That could be the only thing I can think of.
1 week? This is madness. We all know DOTA is ruled by this bot.. Without it I cannot even find a game.

DotA Discussion / Re: bann rules
« on: May 10, 2010, 14:36 »
i do agree and if you cannot beat them then learn from them and join them.
The same thing happends all over the internet. Games never turn out how they were intended because the players do what they think is best for them.

I am a noob learning the game and one day Also I will know how to boost my stats without breaking the rules.

I hate the fact that I have to endure the longest inbalanced games while I always host with forced switches if I see that 1 team is owning to hard. (I only host noobgames, so that does make sense I think)
I think if playdota would make a pro and a noob bot hosting thingy then allot of these "grey rule area's" would be more easy to aply without any discussion needed. They could just have 2 different set of rules.

In the end I play dota because I like it and I wish to learn this by playing people arround my skill level.
Couldn't Playdota install a form of Levelblocking?[commandable] Some stats are just so easy to put boundaries on. Still pro's could mess up noobgames, but they would have to make a new name and wouldn;t be able to have a pro account "legally". Even better noobs could never fuck up pro games anymore.

exambles that I think would improve the bot
if it... "host decides the number" (examble)
*could deny a player with more then "x"(250) games to enter your game
*could deny a player with "x"(150%) K/A
*could deny a player with "x" (10) plugs/disconnects/leaves

Thats my input for the day x.X
