And TPS doesn't rank players, it only groups people in "noob-bad" (worst of the worst to below average player), "average-good" (average player to very good player), "pro-expert" (pro player to holy mother..) so how it can say that you're the best player I don't know. (It only shows point value because people are obsessed to comparing their stats) 3

Maybe we got different explanation for word ''noob'' .Perhaps not, but you certainly don't have to be "pro", as long as you can play decent and don't feed and have a good team. There are 280 000+ players and only 77 have over 1900, and having 1900+ certainly do not mean that you are among the 100 best players on playdota. If you think a system that only works for 0.02% of the players is good, then, I don't even know what to say. Quote On the other hand if a guy joined my game with 1750 psr and 4/2 k/d ration i would have kicked him probably . Why ? Because he is 95% some farmer ( noob ) , who farms entire game and gives a damn about game itself.I assume this is against the PSR system, seeing how his PSR is good, and his stats are not. Quote I also played on last season where we had totally different ranking system . PSR system was a big step ahead in improving this community . ''Pro'' games from last system are 5 times worse than ''pro'' games with psr system and lets say 1800+ players in it.I don't agree completely and I don't say the last system is any good either. But still, you can't just have a system to cater to the cream of the crop (only 0.2 percent/500 players are over 1800). Quote In my opinion PSR system helps us get general vision about player's skill just by checking his points. It doesnt mean he must be pro, but in most of the cases high PSR players are good. It's mostly stack in very high PSR games, so you may be disconnected from the rest 99% of the players who does not share your feelings. 5
General Discussions / Re: Dear Playdota.eu!« on: October 18, 2011, 14:25 »Your question was about PSR System, not PSR only. Thats why i answered about k/d/a... First read what you ask, instead of poor spam. What are you talking about? k/d/a has nothing to do with PSR. And i wont agree about teammates, you can still have nice PSR 1800+ playing only with pubers...Not if you blindly follow the PSR. I used to just join a game and not care, it was !balanced and started. My PSR lingered around 1550 although my stats/k/d/a was well above average. Then I got tired of noobs and started checking !sd of my team most of the time, and I climbed steadily to 1800+ (although the general increase of skilled players haven't gone up). Please explain. Don't just cherry pick an excerpt of my question and refute my entire post by just calling it "poor spam". You are sad and pathetic. But you are not alone. Everyone that argues for PSR does this, because there is no way to defend that broken, miserable system. Quote this topic was solvedIf by solved you mean a lot of people feeling that this system is broken and nothing has been done about it, I guess maybe. 6
General Discussions / Re: Dear Playdota.eu!« on: October 18, 2011, 12:24 »Who said that i've mention that he has bad luck with his teammates? I said it's his bad luck for having low PSR, if he is good like he claims that he is.He had 1750+ which is pretty high, so that didn't make any sense. And the reason you have low PSR is because you have bad teammates. It does a good job by saying how good you're with k/d/a, c/d/n. For me its pretty enough to make an image how good player you're...PSR doesn't take any of that into consideration. You only win PSR by winning. And you lose PSR for losing, being kicked, losing connection etc. 7

Its just your 'bad luck'.Why should luck in how good your teammates are have anything to do with how good you are? Please explain this. 8

Get gproxy or stop joining games and ruining them when you know your connection is flaky.

Strategy / Re: A guide how to get higher PSR - Play more!« on: October 06, 2011, 10:53 »
I don't see how anyone can argue that how many games you've played doesn't relate to your PSR.
Can two equally skilled players have the same PSR if they've each played 10 respectively 50 games? You get PSR for winning, the more you play, the more you will/can win. Is this hard for some people to understand? 11

Why would you need S&Y when you have Eye of Skadi (slow) and Manta (+ms)? 12

Quote 2- who has 8 denies doesnt have to be a good player like you said .. i know someone who has 14 denies called sick of noobs and he has 1300 psr :O and yes please keep saying that psr is shit .. or wait .. if you have 10 denies with 1300 psr is better with you than someone with 1700 psr has 2 denies or something :OI would rather play with someone that had 10 denies and 1300 psr than with someone that have 1700 psr and 2 denies. I completely ignore psr when playing. Quote 3- i prefer someone who has 9 kils and 10 assist even if he has 0 denies .. atleast this person knows how to gang and lolz kills are much better than denies .. atleast when you kill ur opponent you let him lose gold , time , exp etc ....Enjoy your trapem 15
General Discussions / Re: Check TrueProSkill of any player« on: September 16, 2011, 15:45 »
Well, the only reason denies look like they play such a big part is that's it's pretty easy for pro's to deny and that regular players have almost none.
Having 2x the assists for an average player will give more than having 2x the denies of an average player, but seeing how the average player has so low denies, it will make it much easier to get 2x denies than it will to get 2x assists. The base player is a fictional player with fictional stats: kills => 4 deaths => 5 assists => 8 creeps => 40 denies => 2 nc => 15 So 16 assists (2x base) gives more than 4 denies (2x base), sure put like this it looks unfair, but the formula is made to be relational. So player that kill and assists more than they are able to deny (and reverse) has to say something about the player. |
