Title: About leaked passwords
Post by: luke on April 04, 2020, 03:27
http://dota.eurobattle.net/la/forum/index.php?topic=190478.msg697441#msg697441

Since topic is locked i answer in new one, hope its ok

In short - some time ago the websockify server on eurobattlenet was hacked and passwords of all who used the in-game chat leaked (http://tools.eurobattle.net/chat/)

If i remember right your account is among leaked ones, you probably missed the announcement made by server administration at that time

Just change the password, if you have same password on other accounts, there too

Also dont use topaz chat, it has security flaws which could leak your password as well.

Hope it was helpful information

Its possible to get hacked, as i said in locked topic[and what luke posted here]. Noone here has access to your password except you.

I cant find the announcement. Maybe it was deleted

Anyway it doesn't change much for you, i know about it because i was working on this webchat too. Proof : https://github.com/kja12/pvpgn-html5-chat-client

When it just released there was that bug allowing to steal passwords. Then it was fixed: https://github.com/cen1/pvpgn-html5-chat-client/commit/6ae69e08da710c382afc21e0edf633618e25fac2

All happened last year but some people didn't change password

Idk about contributors or perma bans, but i dont think you can prove that password was stolen this way, too much time passed.
