Even tho I started to play 4.5 years ago, it took me some time to learn very basics (how to build items, later what to buy at start, what later - still it was fail item build :D), I was playing vs AIs for long time or 2v2 AI with friend sometimes.
Then I thought I'm skilled enough to start playing on net - ofc I was failing hard.

I recalled that situation few months ago - a friend of mine can pwn AIs like np, I took him here and he is mega noob - real ppl are acting very differently then AIs and as I saw his moves, those are moves that works vs AIs.
No need to mention his item/skill builds ;D

Ha! I know that feeling. Less than month ago an old friend of mine told me he wants to get into DotA and needs a mentor. He also brought that other 2 guys (supposedly they knew the basics already), both insisting on playing bot games. I WISH I COULD UNSEE THIS :D

Buriza on every hero, 25-30 APM, my friend being complete, genuine freshman (and unfortunately, on my team), alied bot lycan jungling for 40 minutes straight etc... You know, I often blame pubs that you can't really coordinate with them, but this... I just felt alone. Getting back to AI games feels soooooo awkward now. Damn, how time flies.
