Title: Goblin !KABOM!
Post by: Pash4 on April 28, 2012, 15:08
Hi guys. Please someone say me how goblin techies's suicide works:S

What is normal gold? -->
Using this skill counts as a suicide, which does not give normal gold or experience to the enemy team.

Upon casting, suicide issues a kill unit command via trigger, which simply kills unit (always counted as suicide). Do not mistake this with things like culling blade which deals 100 000 000 dmg in order to kill unit, while there is no damage involved.

Units killed by kill unit trigger will not grant any regular experience to enemies around (no gold either since, well, they didn't land killing blow).

However, there's a thing called assist gold and experience. Everytime hero dies, each enemy hero within 1000 AoE around victim gains bonus reliable gold and experience depending on amount of heroes involved and level of victim (This does not exist in normal WC3 maps, it's entirely triggered feature of DotA). Details in spoiler.

Quote
Heroes that are in a 1000 area of a dying enemy hero will be granted a certain amount of XP, depending on the total number of allied heroes in that area.

    1 Hero: 120+20*LevelOfDyingHero
    2 Heroes: 90+15*LevelOfDyingHero
    3 Heroes: 30+7*LevelOfDyingHero
    4 Heroes: 15+6*LevelOfDyingHero
    5 Heroes: 10+5*LevelOfDyingHero

    1 Hero: 95+9*LevelOfDyingHero
    2 Heroes: 20+8*LevelOfDyingHero
    3 Heroes: 10+6*LevelOfDyingHero
    4 or 5 Heroes: 6*LevelOfDyingHero

Aforementioned AoE bonus gold/exp is granted regardless of how did unit die, including suicides, so each time you suicide, a small chunk of RELIABLE gold and experience is granted to all enemies in AoE.

I highly recommend reading trough sources for better understanding of topic.

Equation you brought up was for experience actually. Gold formulas are in the other quote.

Just do the maths, I gave you equations. If techies was lvl 25, you get
95 + 9*25 = 95 + 225 = 320 gold if you were alone arond.

If there were 5 enemies, and all survived, it would total at
5 * 6 * 25 = 750 gold for enemy team (as whole; 150 per each).  Yes, assist gold can be this much, lategame.

Before going "OMG SUICIDE FEEDER SPELL", remember if you enemy kills you, he (they) will gain aforemenetioned bonus gold AND regular kill gold, which would total at even higher amount.

Last but not least, regular kill gold is not flat 250, it scales with victim's level and kill streak as well.
Equation as follows:
200 + lvl * 5 + streak
where streak modifier is
50 for killing spree ended
100 for dominating
150 for mega kill
etc.

On a sidenote, bonus gold applies to any kind of suicide, Pudge could be a good example.
