Title: Replay controls
Post by: luke on March 27, 2020, 14:32
Is there any tool which lets you control w3 replay?

Especially:
 - Rotate camera in full circle
 - Change camera distance (many hosts use -cam how to set default distance in replay?)
 - Scroll back (technically impossible but maybe there is some hacky workaround)

- Rotate camera in full circle
Replay Seeker + Simple camera (v1/v2);

No way (except rewind+seek to desired position again) unless you get super computer, which does full memory snapshot every microtick for all threads and microthreads;

About rotating, you can do that with "insert" & "delete" keys afaik, unsure if those are correct keys, but should be. U can use them in default Replay or DRM.

Great advice, it works but something camera is behaving weird switching positions rapidly until i minimize wc3, like it cant decide where the camera should be. Also game crashes after i end replay, something in memory breaks

Agree

Is there a way to turn off selection circle and chat box? Well there is ofc, more precise question, what are the offsets for them?

Any way to get rid of hints when host dies? Replay always shows them

How to hide interface completely?

Also question, how to compile simplecamera from your repo? Some dependecies seem to be missing, for example "using replayseeker"

DotA console hider
Find it somewhere, apply to the map, then replace your original map file in Warcraft3 with one modified by Console Hider.
Beware: this map is barely playable, so before you go to play, please, do not forget to put original map back
Best practice, i think, is to have two separate warcraft 3 instances (copies), one for gameplay, another one for making videos (i had cases multiple times when i started to play lagabuse with ruined interface, not cool :-D)

About selection circle - i do not see it as problem, - you just select unit before recording, then hide mouse cursor in the bottom area (where interface is), then lock camera on desired unit and record

About chat box - dota console hider, must be a thing (if not, we can manage later)

1. You do not really to compile simplecamera from my repo; For 1.26 original replayseeker+simplecamera are working almost perfectly
2. If you want - you need to add replayseeker project as your simplecamera dependency; There is replayseeker too on my github. But again, you do not need that

I am busy, this is 1-min quality response, sorry

About weird camera - maybe you do something wrong with simplecamera

Interesting, so it mods the map and mpq files. I could remove selection circle this way as well though not sure if its worth the bother. I was thinking about memory solution but this one seems better, will try

Im not sure what exactly is wrong, what happens is the camera keeps switching between 2 positions all the time but it fixes when i minimize or restart replay seeker.

Also i had this problem that while holding mouse sometimes it moves on its own, check in this video: https://youtu.be/RiKxgVurT_U?list=PLQ86EiuMXe04MXqyVNgD8ymYYtBZ42U1-&t=41

Pay attention to the inventory area, basically im holding mouse in the right bottom corner to follow the hero so that the cursor is barely visible (only if you know its there). But cursor suddently jumps to the inventory area with crosshair mark by itself. Seems that some actions recorded on the map affect replay
