Title: A single draft [-SD]
Post by: AntlermanXXL on August 02, 2020, 05:05
Please, misters, explain me, what is so fancy in playing the game with -SD mode most of the time?

- It is way far from being anyhow balanced (by obvious reasons, heroes pool is restricted to 3 absolute random heroes per player)
- There is sometimes (again, absolute random) zero chance to counterpick anything
- There are often cases, when all the 5 pools of one team are just filled by greedy heroes only

I personally see zero reasons of playing -SD mode, but you people, keep hosting this mode for probably last 2-3 years, why so?
It can be really good for learning new heroes (something like 'least played' mode), but come on, it is 2020 (meaning, all heroes should be already tested due to long gameplay practice), why do you keep destroying whole level of game variety by restricting picks in this blindfolded way?

Why not -AP or -RD, misters?

About -RD - it restricts heroes pool too, but at least both teams are seeing what heroes can be played in this game, without needing to communicate just to share their crap pools

I remember time when 90% games were AR.

AP games were being called "ap for noobs"😁

Was random, up to people's luck, ATM I do prefer SD to ap, or re, as people pick just overpowered ksing heroes for stats.

Nobody really does what you ask counter, I mean very rarely.

In red games first picks are always solo carries, last rd I played, five agility heroes, and nobody gave a fk.

I have been recently thinking about it since I used to think the same way. I have a good answer for you, while I was playing Dota2 all other mods but ap or cm seemed unbalanced. (this current ap aswell without picking order) I never played any other mode.
If it was dota 2 you would want to pick meta heroes in AP/CM and if enemy has meta heroes in SD mode you would lose. Even in RD the meta pool in dota2 is so limited that there is a good chance that only 1 team gets meta heroes. The fact that you have about 45-55 winrate in Dota2 (ranked games) makes you want to win by picking good heroes. In dota1 its different you can pick whatever hero you want and still have good chance to win even though enemy has some meta heroes.
It also gets boring to play meta heroes in ap vs rl valter because whats the point? You just wanna pick some shit hero and save the meta hero for a better game. SD allows you to pick from 3 heroes that you don't usually pick because its hard to decide a hero that you don't usually play in AP mode

Ahahah, no. Many people can play only 10 heroes max

In ap all pick slark, alchemist or whatever hero is strong, especially noob slayers

i tend to play ap but from what i noticed ...sd games have high chance of balanced picks ...if you have a pick here you will find his counter in the other side ...i saw this many times...still people can pick wrong from limited 3 choices .
