Hmm, if its really like this, than this tool is totaly useless o.O If anything happens to me, its the bluescreen.

There is a difference between getting a BSOD and getting DC because of ISP error. Fixing your computer is something that is within your powers, dc (due to random ISP error) is "force majeure", there is nothing you can do about it.. If you get BSOD its your own fault, so you should get ban anyway.

About power outage..  it is not really a common problem (unless you live in some third world country.. :) ) so i think a ban in case of 'not' reconnecting is valid. And if power outage really should happen, then... thats what the unban request forum is for.

Feedback / Re: Different approach: What is still needed/lacking?

If you think about it.. the host would still have full control to kick noobs or pros in inappropiate games (which would avoid games where there are 4 pro and 1 meganab   VS  5 average players), while still restricting him from stacking.

Well... imho the problem with all this is that it is too complex and not very transparent.
Categorizing people to rigid "!pro" and "!noob" classes would definitly be a big turn-off for many players..  especially to the people near the borderline.
People dont suddenly become pro. Its a gradual process.. so the transition should be gradual.

I would rather see the solution, you yourself offered in some another topic.. (compare team player scores and do not allow starting if the difference is too big). This would avoid dividing people into !pro and !noob.. which is demeaning and arbitrary.

I mean that, host won't need to type "-Arso", so this will avoid some hosts to forget typing it or if they go bathroom.

Host who types !start and then immediately goes to bathroom should be banned for stupidity lol. Unless he can piss really fast..

It cannot be proven beyond a reasonable doubt that a plugger is really a plugger. Even pro players with 20/0 streak could get DC from time to time..  although i agree that mostly it is not the case.

btw, from what i have heard, icefrog is working on a reconnect tool.. so perhaps soon it will be possible to join dc-ted games. Dc-ing and not rejoining should be banned, when it will be finally implemented :)

I think the most important feature of this command would be that it is impartial, no-one could whine about host choosing the best team for himself.

I agree with the problem. In fact, I just came to write to the forum about this problem, when I noticed there was already a thread.

I propose a solution similiar to the one found in CS, that is auto-teambalance. This could be a bot-implemented volountary command to arrange fair teams inside the lobby. Auto-balancing according to stats would certainly not be perfect, but better than just to shuffle or not doing anything at all.

To players who want to play with friends... the command could be something that is announced beforehand, in the gamename (similiarly to game mode). For example, a gamename could be "DOTA SDSO pro autobalance"
If you want to play with a freind, just dont join into games that advertise using the command.

I figure it would not be difficult to implement.. someone needs to figure out a formula, according to which the most even teams could be determined given the current players stats in lobby.

Ofcourse, the host still has the right to kick total nabs when he seems it fit. But I think overall, this would reduce the current amount of stats abuse.

Cannot connect to fawkz pvpgn. Eurobattle and bots seem to work though.

Perhaps a new map had been released and you dont have it. Bot automatically kicks downloaders.. I had this problem some time ago, took a while to figure out what was wrong.

6.66 was released on 13th jan

Feedback / Re: Stats Bug !
« on: January 18, 2010, 23:31 »
<rant> OK... I notice you are probably sick of hearing this.. but the STATS ARE MESSED UP.

Today in a game lobby i did !sd on myself and it showed me my stats.  (i think they were mine.. so far so good). Then i used !sd on another player, [ma]Cro,  in the lobby, and it displayed exactly the same stats as mine.
When the other player used !sd on himself, he saw the same thing.

Now, the odds of two people having exactly the same numbers (including all the creep stats etc) are extremely remote imo..  so i guess it is a bug.

Later I went to the channel and did !sd again on both. It displayed my stats correctly, but didnt show [ma]Cro stats at all, but rather displayed "hasnt played any games this season.."  which, according to the www.playdota.eu stats is , again, wrong.

If you click "STATS" on the main page, where it says

"We are making a new website.
FORUM and STATS working by now."

you get some weird shit.. seems like the upper part of the page is displayed twice.
