First of all, I think its great feature, looks very cool
But i found a bug: you can set any account you want there.

My suggestion is: you could add a simple boolean field to the player and forum account db and manually set it after the player is verified. So it could be displayed in both forum profile and on player stats page. There could be a link then to users forum account in his player stats.

Verification could be done manually by moderators by asking on server or checking ip or similar.
Goal is to give account more value both server and forum. At the same time everybody will see forum member set a real account and not imposing someone. For moderators also will be useful to know to for example know who to give seasonal or patreon rewards to.

As long as multiaccount system is available, everything will be futile.

I think radical change is bad but doing it step by step can be useful. Small step for account verification, big leap for 1 user - 1 account
