First impressions...
So my friend called me for a game last night... He's been praising Eurobattle.net for quite a while, and I decided to give it a shot. But...
I couldn't get into any game! D: Even in "1500+" games, or "apem noobs" games, I was getting instantly kicked for not having played on this platform >.<
Ultimately my friend hosted a game himself, in which the Scourge team turned out to be a group of friends. (By the way they also wanted him to kick me). According to some statistic, we had 20% something to win against them. Even though we had 0 team communication (no one of our teammates ever spoke), we completely destroyed them in 30 minutes. So much for the "1700" ratings and the elitist attitude. :/
Apart from that, it was an OK pub experience. Actually one of the very very few games where someone other than me bought Observer Wards. ^_^ True that teammates were deafmute as always, but I've already given up on that, even with my 4 languages.
Still, I think they should emphasise a lot less on 'ladder records' that neglect any background experience on players' side...

I'm not sure what is the point of this topic? You won a game vs some ppl where you had 20% chance (according to PSR which isn't accurate in your case at all, you have default PSR but your skill may be on higher lvl).

Arrogant "-apem proz" players idealise and worship that !SD score as if it's the definite measurement of skill*. There's no such thing as individual skill in DotA, because it's a team game. You may have 6 years of experience and end up in a godawful team 10 times in a row. What does it prove?
K/D/A stats don't measure skill or intelligence either. 99% of DotA players fail to realise that.
Those ladder scores only encourage that stupid discrimination and comparing of measurements that persist in every single game.

well you got 47 creeps in 37 min with tiny :S:S:S:S
the reason why i don't like players with 1500 psr is that when you balance the game later it is still inbalanced because the default value of psr and sd is mostly wrong (at low nuber of games ).
you can create your own game where you can decide who will join your game,and who not

Yes, it was -arem game, but the guy said "Don't join pro games" (implying arem is a 'pro' game). As for the number of creeps, again, it was an -em game, so I didn't need to farm that much anyway >.>
In any case, my point which you seem to deviate from, was that players emphasise way too much on numbers that mean close to nothing. >.< You just witnessed how SD=1650 players failed miserably, and I'm sure it's happening all the time in other games.
The only statistic that is truly individual and truly matters in pub games is the ratio of unfinished/total games, i.e. leaver percentage. ._.

I see your disappointment but I think you can't make ppl to ignore numbers and if you want play good games with good guys you gotta play some low lvl games to get some PSR. Or, as Travie said, read about our IHRL League for skilled player, there you don't need high PSR at all:)

from my experience on this bot with 1000x of games i went to this conclusion
stats means nothing and psr means nothing the only way to know if a player is good or not is by playing with him on the same team !!

U cant expect anything because these are random games. Which means u can be pro player but may have shit stats because of shit teams.
Or u may have good stats but u can be one of the most duff player that lack of any stratrgy. Because u play against random players with ur team. For example most of the 1800+ players are lack of any strategy of this game.
Conclusion: İf u got the strategy of this game, u are ok. Don't bother stats.

PSR is suppose to help play with same experience players. Most 1500lv games tht are AP you will find 5 carries/agi on 1 side. 1700 you start to see some changes, but once you hit 1800 games strategy becomes quite important, as well as communication and map awarness. PsR is only here to help get same lv players together, but its not a perfect system. But par PSR with their stats exp denies and netural kills, n their assits to death ratio will give u a good idea what kind of player are they. Someone with a high kder with low assits and a high netural kills is probably a carry farmer and will farm whole game till the end. That's just one example of many. But like I said its a tool and a science.
