Title: Recreate The Image #1

What you need to do?

- Try to recreate the image as best as you can.


Rules:

- You can use whatever software (Paint, Photoshop, Illustrator, Affinity Designer) you want as long as you are using its in-built tools such as brush, pencil, shapes, pen etc.
- Nothing taken from the internet, your final product should be 100% made by your own hands with the help of the software's tools, nothing pre-made or taken from the internet.

Start: 13.08.2018
End: 20.08.2018

The way this is presented can be changed (to the normal template), I just wanted to give this one a try cuz I think it looks kinda cleaner like this.

I will recreate the image now on Illustrator and upload it here so you guys will get the idea how this contest will look like.

This is just a test anyway

Will it be fair to open the image and draw over it with brush on another layer?

I'm pretty sure it wouldnt. Try making it only by looking at the original. I will give it a try with windows paint.

not sure tbh, it'll probably be better as the original one because comparing them will be easier that way.

That's what I did xD
I mean we can decide if that's fair or not. As long as you don't copy anything from the original one it shouldn't be a problem imo.

On a more serious note: I think the game will be more fun if we try to recreate it by only looking at the original. There are differences between works made by jimmy, divide, mara and you can actually rate them to see which one has the highest fidelity. If we use helping layer for brushing all of our works will look the same: with slight differences in tone and edges.

Is all up to you guys. Anyway, this idea of Jean is great. Seems fun to me. I was thinking to change the BLIM board in mixt games, Caption Adding Contest and jean's game (should add a name to it) being oficially held there (with awards and GFX ladder pts).

I am glad that my acute deficit of any artisitic talent whatosever can still inspre mischief. I think that contest concept is good. Just painting over layer largely beats the purpose.

With that in mind, may I propose a name for the minigame: DMLOoYFGC (as short for "Draw Me Like One of Your French Girls Contest").

Or "Drawful Replicaction contest".

Or "A contest where users submit their manually drawn replicas of selected images without using any renders of otherwise pre-generated imagery to recreate source image as accurately as possible".
