My weird critical error
« on: January 26, 2010, 17:02 »
This error is anoying me a lot and mb i could even stop playing dota because of it o.O
In fact this has nothing to do with playdota.eu bot, but if you know how to solve it (or know some good forum for problems like this) please help me.
It happens near every day, completely random and usualy in first dota  :-[
At first the sound becomes laggy and weird, but everything else stays as usual. Like minute after, even mouse starts to lagg and finaly, few moments after, my mouse and keyboard freezes completely and i cant do enything till i restart computer (manualy ofc). Only screen is ok - i may watch what other players are doing, but its still better to restart fast so my teammates may put my hero back to base.
Ever seen that before? Any suggestions what to do?  ???

...cant say it happened to me...i mean i had my fair share of crashes but not as often as u do...i suggest u reinstal war3 , scan comp for viruses , defragment all drives or even reinstal windows (if , ofc , u think dota is worth that kind of trouble)...

scan comp for viruses
Scaned with both Avast and Ad-aware and they found nothing =(

defragment all drives or even reinstal windows
I reinstalled windows just 1 month ago (xp-»7). On the beggining there was no problem, it appeared like 2 weaks after. I formated hy HD before that, so i guess defragmentation also wont help =(

reinstal war3
Good idea, may try that. My w3 is installed in czech version and than switched to english, that could possibly be the problem...

Sure, DotA is worth any trouble!  ;D (actualy only game i play)

Anyway, thanks for your help

PS:My friend suggested me to reinstal sound drivers. After ive done it, this problem didnt disapear, just the "weird laggy sound" has completely changed o.O

For me sounds like bufor problem.
USB devices using bufor, sound using bufor.
win7 have own drivers for many motherboards. Try to find drivers for your motherboard at manufacturer site and reinstal them.
I had similar problem but with disc to disc transfer. After a while I had 5mb/s transfer form c:/ to d:/. I shall have at least 55mb/s
Instaling original motherboard drivers solved problems. New components has been found and since then everything work like it should.

Well, 18 times with DotA, once with Unreal Tournament 3 and once on youtube (but only in dota its problem to restart pc  :( ). So its not only dota problem (thats why i think reinstall w3 wont help)

Oh and i nearly forgot, you said
For me sounds like bufor problem.
USB devices using bufor, sound using bufor.

My mouse and keyboard are not connected by USB but by the "classic" cable.

Can you screenshot the Fatal Error? It will help to find any solution.

When it happens, i cant do anything with keyboard or mouse (so no alt+ printscreen). And theres nothing in the event log (thats quite weird). o.O
