Rule for Mods
« on: May 27, 2011, 17:53 »
I've read this:
http://playdota.eu/forum/index.php/topic,62314.0.html
I don't have any problem, I don't think Angel abused his powers.
And there is ban request link:
http://playdota.eu/forum/index.php/topic,62313.0.html
As you can see, Angel requested ban and because Angel is Mod he banned him.
Shouldn't there be a rule that requestor can't ban rule-breaker himself?
I have nothing against Mods but it can look like abusing powers. I mean Mod who played game with rule-breaker can be angry and may be biased.

Please notice that I'm saying CAN or MAY BE. I don't think they are biased or they are abusing their powers.

He did not ban him out of nowhere, he put prooves on that post so that he did not abuse anything.

It's not abuse, he did the right thing in that ban request.

But still I agree with Astaroth, I think that if mod makes a ban request for someone, he shouldn't solve it by himself. He should wait for other mod and that other mod should solve it, that way there's not gonna be any problems and useless topics.

When there are prooves, people can think whatever they want. Thoose people complain are mostly rule breakers themselves and when a player asks for decision of another mod about a situation, that topic usually gets reviewed by another mod. (Depends on how obvious the situation is...)

i read this in fast way.

he wrote br, he approved it. reason 5 sentences for player who played in game with him. i didnt read anything more there were zillion of text. maybe it was there explained or espoused. from my point of view it is abuse.

0. plays game with him
1. own br
2. own approval
3. dont tell me fairy tales
4. some1 another should deny/appr it but it is not important, it wont destroy world.

If you believe there is an abuse in any ban&unban you can always pm a head b&u moderator about the situation;
mrNiceguy, Nv.Thug
It will be reviewed and the required action will be taken by them.

Ofc you can ask another Mod to check the ban and everything around it.
I just think that 3rd person should judge the ban request like in real life.

Lol, he shouldn't have even posted that. He should've just banned him! This is just helping the banned player to see the information on his ban, nothing else. Ridiculous suggestion.

totally agree with you - permaban right? go slap your face pls. he was emocionally involved so that's the reason for so called abuse. if he just pm to friend b/u mod like ban this player for 5 days it wouldnt be this story. he was pissed and lazy so he abused his power. that's all. period.

There is a rule that Mod who was in the game should take a look on the request from that game. Because Mod who has played that game would know the best if that person should be banned or not.

I don't see what's the difference if someone else posted this request who played with us instead of me... I'm a person as everyone else. I'll repeat myself again, everything i'm doing as a mod is by rules.

And for Astaroth, at least some nice and usefull thread about this matter. People always make threads to yellow and never look things on a realistic way.

Best regards

We must all write this on our signatures or what?

If you have any complaints on b&u moderator's work, report that to Head b&u moderator or b&u admin.

your problem is that u muted him for 10 minutes instead of ignore him and u wrote "posle imas ban za flame" and u unmuted him u continued with talking with him and playing. so i stand what i said u were emocionally involved. i am pretty sure that if u would win that game u wouldnt ban him. w/e i dont blame you it is just game.

to djerfi stay on topic. no1 has problem with anybody. people learn from their mistakes better sooner than later.

Agree, but it looks like you can do everything you want. It looks like you can ban him just because he called you retard or idiot few times (and that is not against rules) and you are angry to him. But in this case you have proved his break of rules.
To give exaple from real life:
You can go to police and tell them that your neighbor is stealing your garden stuff (shovels, rake...). But that is all you can do, you can't arrest him, judge him and send him to prison (I know no1 can be send to prison for stealing a shovel, just example).
But I see you have proved his breaking of rules. Personally I don't have problem with this but as you can see some people do have , they think you are "emotionally involved".
I'm just saying that 3rd person should check the request. Than it will not look like abusing your powers.

Imo Mods are doing great job, I often check ban/unban request and I often agree with results. I'm saying "often" because if some1 is reported for flame I can't agree/disagree with result because they often flame in other language than English.

But can some1 explain me this:
http://playdota.eu/forum/index.php/topic,62405.0.html
Ban because of nickname?
Player [isus_krist : eurobattle] was perma banned by [night_must_fall]. Ban was issued on [22-05-2011 16:07:09].
Game link:    None
Request link:    None
Ban description:    After several complaints about this nickname
