There are different builds on start. Any meele hero should take queling blade , as for str guy gauglents and 2 branches and tango , if you have courier in team so you can send more heals make bracer maybe for jango and also get magic stick.

This is a long guide about starting items. I will put all right starting items, but I can't put them all in one day. I accept comments about another starting item in an specific hero. If it's ok your build I will edit it, but this is for people who doesn't know what to build at first, not to teach people to play. I will make other guides about how to play, this one is one to items, thank you.

Ok thank you, I didn't know that existed. It was just an idea but I see it was taken. I will delete this then. By the way, if I would need to copy I'd just do all heroes at the same time, not one by one. Sorry everyone I didn't know this, but I asure you this was my own job.

There's no predefined starting items set for some hero.

You chose your items according to the role you'll play in the game. For example, POTM can be solo mid for fast lvl up and gank, or solo down for semi-carry. Hence differents items to start with.

You also chose your items according to the ennemy setup. For example, magic stick is a must against rigwarl in lane, and is totally useless against ENCHANTRESS + HUSKAR. Quelling blade is a must-have against furion, even if you're a ranged hero. But you'll avoid buying quelling blade on a support hero if you got a carry hero who needs to farm in your lane.

If you lane against Rexxar, you'll love to start with basilius, set the armor for creeps, and deny 20hp ranged creeps after he casts his wild axes.

And so on...

IMO these guides who want to help newbs are poison, you give them wrong hints, and a wrong vision of the gameplay. One of the most important thing in dota is the ability to adapt your build and behavior to the current matchup, and your "guide" is misleading noobs to bad habbits.

It's a nice initiative to try to help. But dont forget this game has already billion guides existing all over the net. Dont try to re-invent the wheel.
