mh problem - partly solution
« on: October 13, 2010, 00:32 »
anyhow the method for reporting mh right now just utterly and totally sucks... time it takes me to report someone is time i need to find where someone hacked me, then write it down and open a post blabla...

at the same time person who HACKED can easily make a new account and be gg on his way...

that is why nobody or really little amount of ppl do report...

solution to at least a part of that problem would be adding ingame command !mh reason (bot would automatically save time and u would need to watch +-1 min)  which would save it somewhere on playdota.eu along with replay and it would be much easier to track it, even multiple times if needed

(downside when knowing smn hack u must watch replay slowly to see it occur, with this u could ease up process a lot)

also i forgot but there was once a tool for wc3 where u could speed replay to the time u want (u would need to watch it outside wc3 though [if i find it i post..])

Not a bad idea, but just for your info, we use parser to detect mh. It shows all the raw data of the game, every mouse click, every command. So at certain times we check if they clicked items that are in shadow, if they manage to click it and there numerous occasions, we mostly likely suspect mh. 2nd any one perma banned for mh on pd.eu , is sent over to Eurobattle(Xpam) in which then they are perma banned as well, and also ip lock.

For the average person changing your ip isn't that easy, so many remain banned.

Thank you for the feedback.

Something I do in these cases when I'm in the game is I say something in the chat to mark the time.

Mhers with dynamic IP will always get an IP from the same IP-range (depending on their town and provider). If you use regular expressions on the users IP log, you find them...

And if they wanna play hidden behind 15 proxies, they'll have ugly pings :)

orly? All MH cases are solved according to rules. The only problem is, we do not have enough staff in Hacks team to deal with custom games MH cases, we leave this to subsidiary communities - like inhouse leagues (SS/EDL), or national communities (TR/CZ/SK/BR). All of these have hundreds of locked MHckers in between them

If you feel any of your reported cases on eurobattle.net was not solved properly, you can report those to me.
