is bad pick a reason to ban for being noob in pro game

today i played ap game, i picked strong tea hero sven and was prepared for good game. But my team  mates picked gondar, yunero, slark, and .... techies. Soon they were owned on lanes, tower were lost and slark left. Techies was planting mines in forest (nobody was trapped) so we were 3v5 (mode wan not em) and soon game was over (they had never, slardar, earth and some more)

my point is - pro player - i mean typical pub pro not real pro should at least try to make a reasonable pick. One hard carry is enough, and picking techies pudge meepo or other heroes which need very good skill and failing hard with them is ruining a game. Also taking third and fourth paper hp invi hero - make no sense because any serious opponents will just smash you. So what are your comments?

Well, when I see "-ap" and "pro" in the same game name, I know it will be a noob game.
Pro and -ap just don't go together. Period.

I don't think thought that pick by itself can mean someone is not pro. Selfish, carry picker idiots irritate me too (they are the ones who love to just last hit a tower when whole team is trying to quickly bring it down, or who ks a lot, or refuse to defend because they want good stats).
But they can be pro players, and can own. But it will be harder for them to play like real pros, so they are making their own game harder.
So: bad pick -> hard game -> getting pwned by enemy -> noob in pro game.
But: bad pick -> hard game -> still owning enemy -> real pro.

Since the vast majority of the players on Eurobattlenet don't have a clue about proper picks and laning, it'd be impossible to try to punish bad picking. Furthermore, "good picks" and "bad picks" are impossible-to-define, extremely subjective concepts.

Lastly, it would mean that only the last couple of players to pick would be eligible for punishment, which in turn would mean that all the little rikimarus and gondars would spam their favourite heroes even more, just to be certain that they won't get blamed for ending up with a 5-melee agi carry team.

Well, you can always ask for ban because they joined a game not appropriate for their skill.
That being said  - it's a pub. You can't really avoid selfish picks. I don't always chose the best hero for the game because I want it to be challenging for me (but neither do I choose a hero that's worst for the game like meepo against aoe'). I still play well so my team isn't at a loss. But, yeah, your team overdid it. Especially if they can't even play very good with their picks.

Item build not required, I've done lots of mjollnirrushes and battlefury's on Windrunner
(and still owned with it)
