Language?
« on: September 16, 2010, 19:57 »
I hate when people talk in their own language with a friends in game because its like spam for me.
My question is:
Can I mute if I asked them to talk english but they don't want to?, or it's mute abuse?

P.D: For friends exists the "/r" command...

I create EU games and ask them to talk english... What else can I do? Just stay and watch them fill my screen with something I don't understand?

i dont agree with you, im CZ and havent seen this....
I would say, it depend whats going on... if 2 ppl are on same lane a are talking in their lang, then there should NOT be a problem... they will need to say anythink whats about game { not just their lane} in eng anyway.

In case they are just spamming { over full screen} then just mute them.

Omg again... All XYZ are spammers, kill them all...

I think that in cases like this, mute should only be used if their talk is really irritating to most players. I mean, if they were talking English and fill the whole screen with mumbo-jumbo, they should get muted too. So this is language independent.
But if they are talking about things that don't concern you, why should it bother you? Get over it and play.

Btw, am I the only one irritated by this forum kid?

It's not about country, it's just that there are so many tr and cz players that you see it more often. I see serbian, croatian, slovak and others use their language just as much. Especially when they start losing and flame you in their language. I laugh at them so hard, it's so hilarious when they start to rage to this extent because of a game.

I also sometimes speak croatian when playing with my friend/s, but that is always completely unrelated to the game, and i dont see why that would concern anyone other than me and my friends. It doesnt interfere with the game in any way, and shouldnt bother anyone unless he is very afraid that someone might be talking bad of him...

agree Im CZ too, theres no problem with countries but ppls I myself talk only in English, my language using only if play CZ/SK games where we understand ourselves
and if some 2 guys want tell something no problem with their language, but if the thing is concern of game its team play so use universal speech, English.
I hate situations playing with 4 players from XYZ and they communicate about gangs atc. and I dont understand and then they flame I make something wrong cause I didn know what they planned
second problem is flamming in bad game if you want say something say it directly so target understand
theres nothing more coward then hide behind your language
if somebody is asshole say it so he understand and say why
and my opinion from which country are most ppls who do that? from that their language is nonsense for every normal Continental - Hungary and Turkey :D
if flame some ppl from serbia or poland or russia some words I catch - no problem Slavic languages ;)

Speaking different language is extremely rude. If you wanna talk to your friends you can always whisp/ts/mobile phone. Spamming the chat over and over with language in {insert most hated country language here} can realy make your dota unpleasant. I am usualy muting those guys for some time so they stop.
