Regarding rankings

I was wondering is there any requirements in order to be in the top 5 ladder (kills/denies/assists) for both heroes and creeps?I mean does he/she need to play an amount of game?Just say that some1 has already high enough score to be in the top 5 creep denies..but it is not in the top 5 ladder?o.o

Last season was something like 5-8 games ..smth like that, but this season seems that 2-3 games are enough.
