IFAIK it might be different reason.
ie: One day I clean up my PC (inside) so took all parts out (except CPU) and when I put it all back I was getting BSOD, then I found out it was caused by RAM were swapped so system didnt handle with it.

Also more info like Hardware changes or clean up registry etc would be helpful too.

But generally in 90% fresh system instal will fix your problem.

Ofc not,the BSOD just happens to protect your hardware from getting damaged, search for some of mine posts how to use Blue Screen Viewer(smth like that) and post that log then

basically Tbag is right, blue screen can be caused by damaged part of your HDD and as king said it protects your hardwares from being damaged, and formatting and reinstalling the windows can solve it 90% but check your hardwares 1st! make sure they all run properly.

if u still geting the same result post here i will try to help.

BSOD may be caused by hardware fault (RAM fault, overheating...) or by error in drivers (fail to handle some exception).

So if you won't post any further details, all I can say is check everything :D

If you're using XP, windows can be bugged and it's common error (BSOD).
