so 1 sux ???

linux doesn't sux it's different form windows, and it's hard to compare them.

for windows 8 i think it's a huge fail. it's designed for tablets , and not for  desktop pcs.

windows 98 =good
winwos me = sux
windows xp= good
windows vista= sux
windows 7= good
windows 8= sux

You cant say that windows 8 is sux. It's just beta version and its not bad at all. W7 is good, but w8 will pwn with full version (full version is out 26. october 2012). You can download beta, RC and RTM versions for now and many another adds. About METRO, you can always change it on w7 mode. If you dislike metro, just move it. Also, w8 will be only in 64-bit OS.

yes, thats what most people dont know, if u dont like "METRO" u can switch it into Win7 look. Another thing is, UI called METRO is only temporary name for that look, because METRO is under copyright some german company. So Microsoft says, they will change name of it. Unless they change their mind as usual and they will buy rights for that name.
I would see biggest problem for Win8 is for developers, coz M$ puts too much pressure on them, they would like to get something like Apple has in store.
As u can see atm M$ is trying to get as much people on W8 as possible, thats why they have lots offers how to get it for really good price. If u got your PC with win7 after 2nd July (am not 100% sure but about this date) u can upgrade to win8 (after release) for about $20. For those who would want Win8 but they got Win7 before 2nd July, upgrade will be about $50. As we know, its cheap compare overpriced Vista.
Anyway, its not full version so im not gona say anything about it yet...w8 for release and then we will see.
Imo M$ will push Win8 towards... more pressure for developers then for customers. M$ tried that with Vista to put pressure on customers and M$ found out that wasnt so good direction.

XP is currently shit,i can't run games like Dota 2,cs 1.6,DX-Ball,Atomic bomberman etc. on my weaker comp i can't watch hd videos while in win 7 it goes like np,on the other hand 3x times easier to set permission ...
About win 8 i keep all my important shortcuts on start menu and for others i go to desktop i re-arranged icons and it's like np.Still the compactability concerns me and if extra ram used isn't done for nothing
I didn't say linux sux i said 1 means it suxs i will switch from windows to linux or apple/mac

Wait, kingW3, are you comparing systems or rigs? Because win7 is clearly much bigger resource whore that XP, and saying that switching to more demanding system helps you get better performance sounds like bullshit to me. If you have weaker machine with XP and newer one with win7, then your comparison is pointless.

Unless I completely misunderstood your post.

I got 2 comps both have dual boot xp/win7 on the weaker one hd videos for example run smooth while on xp they don't,win 7 is using more resources but things run smoother on it if you have enough resources. On the second better machine games i mentioned doesn't work on xp but they work on win 7(i didn't try them on second machine since it's kinda weak)
