Playing a support
« on: August 08, 2012, 17:37 »
I am a low tier player and I know it. Recently I played rly bad where I could happen to misplace my hero resulting in quick death or something similar. So I tried to play defensively but to stick close enough to be able use my abilities when needed. Last game with me as Rhasta (ID: 68) I was puzzled as to what I should do. As Rhasta I though I have to get lvl 6 fast and start pushing with wards tower after tower. That wasnt possible coz of opposite team so I was trying to stick to my team stay a little behind and try to cast everything I got from side. That prove to be quite difficult even if I was able to cast my wards just to destroy fcking tomb ( which no one else focused and that raped us for half game ) I was usually dead few seconds later ( I decided that Fork Lightening would be more useful as it has more range then Hex so I could spam it from afar and still do anything useful, pew pew pew .... ). Anyway I died multiple times and was flamed for that. So I ask how any of you experienced players would behave?
When I look for a guide that could explain to me how to behave in such situations I fail to find any decent guidelines.

All depends of positioning of you and your team, anyway its hard to play rasta suport since he is focused when he is using his shacle and he cant move in that moment

I know that Rhasta isnt easiest supports to play. But I am asking in general when your whole team is out of position and I die first coz I am squishy then they flame me. Or when lane partners wont communicate at all and fail coz I didnt understand their intentions.

In case of rhasta you should be good at early game and i mean if line you need to spam enemy heroes and let your carry farm. Later on u should be able to push, and much of that depends of your teammates cuz u cant carry game ofc. In the case of mid, i prefer 3 branches and 1 set of trees and observers and chick. lvl up lighting farm a bit and buy bottle fast. than you be as much annoying you can and push mid tower easy. That is good start.

Faku I know you are mega fail player and you might not understand next sentence, but I will try to explain.

I was in that game and to be honest it's nothing you can do about it, CD stupid mode, we were outpicked.
With riki and weaver against silencer it's nothing you can do, once they go combo-wombo and silencer do ulti, we all dead.
Since silencer's ulti reveals riki, totaly counter weaver, beside silencer they had krobe with 6 aoe second silence.

Anyways, about rasta, early game you were really bad, there is few skill builds for support rasta on 3 lane, neither of them is not yours.
You max first skill, so you had weak disables, if you had max disables, one focus on silencer/undy on early lane stage would be deadly.
Once their hero is out of position
Shackle (rasta) - Smoke (riki) + Thrall, they are unable to cancel you shackle ,then you can disable other and win easy lane.

Unfortunately, you were that hero out of position feeding the opponents.

Later on, when you see team getting raped only solution is smoke ganks, try to get some kills with your team mates.
Yours position in team smoke should be leading, cus of many disables you got.

In team fight you should stay out of tomb and stuff, near your carry, cus carry always kill faster with disables and you are protected.

Anyways that game were fail.
