How to work with Pixlr online

First what you must know about Pixlr is that you have 3 optional programs:
1. Pixlr Editor
2. Pixlr Express
3. Pixlr O-Matic

All 3 programs are special programs and for good and quality picture, programs should be used in combination.

NOTE: Registration is not required!

Pixlr Editor
Pixlr Editor is basic picture editor where you can do many things.

Allowed tools
1. Great thing is that you have 15 turns back, so you can use ctrl+z and ctrl+y for moving to previous looks and to go back to last edits you did. Cool for comparing changes on picture.
2.  Hand tool - you can zoom your picture with scroll on your mouse, so when you zoom your picture, hand tool can help you to check some parts of picture
3.  Color Replace tool - it can be used, but limited, it is some kind of brushes, but can make big changes on basic picture look, so be careful with this tool.
4.  Spot Heal tool - very useful, can improve sometime picture quality, but should be used smart and limited
5.  Sharpen tool
6.  Sponge tool
7.  Dodge tool and Burn tool, both programs give more quality to picture, Dodge give light, Burn give shadow effect, both are very good for use and maybe most important tools
8.  Colourpicker tool

Forbiden tools for PSC:
1. Crop tool
2. Pencil tool
3. Brush tool
4. Smudge tool
5. Drawing tool
6. Type tool

Tools which should not be used:
1. Paint Bucket tool - with this tool can be done some brushes, but it very affect on picture and change picture basics
2. Bloat tool - it very affect on picture and change picture basics
3. Pinch tool - it very affect on picture and change picture basics
4. Zoom tool - you don't need it, use scroll on mouse
5. Move tool - it can make problem for you if you use it, that tool can change picture dimensions and it can ruin your work
6. Eraser tool - useful tool but not for PSC

Neutral tools - i never used them
1. Gradient tool
2. Clone Stamp tool
3. Drawing tool - even if i never used them, seems this tool should not be used for pictures

NOTE: Always save picture after you do 5-10 effects, so you wont lose your work if you do some mistakes later.

Now basics, how to work with program.

File
First what you need to do is to upload your picture, or to use some link from internet, so option Open image is there to upload picture from your pc, and Open image URL is to use picture from internet-better option is to use picture from PC.
Save picture - always save pictures with png quality, or jpeg 100% quality.

Edit
Undo and Redo ; ctrl+z and ctrl+y thats all what you need for PSC  (all other can be used for signature or picture manipulation with more pictures included)

Image
There is nothing from this list which can be useful for PSC, because resizing for PSC is not allowed, rotating picture automatically resize picture, so nothing for PSC

Layer
Same as for Image

Adjustment
Hue and Saturation , Color balance and vibrance, levels, curves... many useful tools you have here

Filter
Many useful filters can be found there

NOTE: There are many useful tutorials on youtube and dailymotion, also you have Pixlr tutorials and support here https://pixlr.com/ - just scroll down

Pixlr O-Matic
Pixlr O-Matic have 3 options for edits:
 - Effects  (Red)
 - Overlays (Blue)
 - Borders (Yellow)

First what you have to do is to click on that option which have that orange color NEW, down left side (When you use Pixlr O-Matic you won't have that orange symbol NEW). There you have to choose effects, overlays and borders - use all of them, or add some useful for your work.

Now you can go with Effects first, it will save your time when you want to work with pictures, you can find your new look for your picture, and that will be basic look for future editing, of course this is only optionally.
When you finish with effects, you can go with Overlays, but be careful, some of them can be taked as brushes or renders-that mean it effect can change basic picture look, so better to use Pixlr Express where you can use same effects, but limited, 1-100% Overlay.
And last, you have borders, same like for Overlays, it is much better to use Pixlr Express where you can control that effect.
When you finish with pixlr O-Matic, you have to simple save your picture and to prepare for upload.

Pixlr Express

This is amazing program and something between Pixlr Editor and Pixlr O-Matic, but it give much more options for manipulation with pictures. Easy to use.

I suggest using options Adjustment, Effect, Overlay and Borders from there.

Adjustment: Color, Vibrance, Contrast, Blur, Sharpen, Smooth, Auto Fix, Brighten, Focal, Splash are allowed.

Stickers and Letters are not allowed for PSC.

Overlays are allowed if they don't change picture basics and that mean overlays should be limited.

Example what is not allowed

this is forbiden brush
