Any context? From what I can tell riki suddenly got 1200 dmg, is that right? Maybe it's a lvl 25 talent bug

Replying to the ban/unban request is the easiest part which takes 5 seconds at most, what takes most of the time is checking game log, checking the replay, deciding on ban duration, applying the ban/warn etc. I don't believe ban/unban staff have it hard writing "!unbanned" or "!banned for 5 days", the hard part is what I mentioned above.
Regardless of what I just said, if someone is willing to save 20 seconds per day for the ban/unban team, then go on... I guess...?

1) Insulting Staff Members

Post 1 in question:

I agree that insulting Staff Members should be punishable, since they do everything they can for the well-being of the community, i think this is 100% right. However, in this post we see insulting as well.

Post 2 in question:

Here we see no sanction for same level of insulting.

Of course i understand that 2nd case is a friendly joke, however it can't be implied directly from the post, so for anyone who doesn't know that they are friends it might seem that the guy insulted an Administrator and no sanctions were applied which can seem really weird.

Question: maybe such situations can be avoided because they might create an impression that the Rules are not same for all?

He would have receive the punishment regardless if he was directing it towards a staff member or a forum member, he didn't get the punishment just because he insulted a staff member, if that's what you are trying to say in the first part of your post.
There's a difference between insulting someone and being sarcastic with someone, it's common sense to tell the difference, there hasn't been a single case to my knowledge where someone got banned for joking with someone, at least not in the current administration.

2) Editing posts

Post in question:

I noticed that the post has been edited. Of course, i'm not questioning Admin's sanctions for such posts but as someone who isn't familiar with the situation it seems odd to not be able to see the whole story. This isn't the only case, i saw it happening before too, even years ago.

In general, if a post contains some insults, it would be good to see what exactly was bad to avoid it in the future and make the applied sanction look justified for others.

This happens in cases where someone adds unnecessary and unvalid addition to the case which he presents that has nothing to do with it.
It can happen in cases like this "jeandarc was being abusive to me in my last game by muting me for no reason, oh and btw the rest of the admins suck too", so we'll remove the last part because the other admins have nothing to do with jeandarc's abuse and it adds nothing to the case.

i remember the good old days when Resor never used to ban someone for one sentence flames. even mods are instructed to use !ignore command in case someone is harrasing them

In the so called "good old days" Resor would have warned you for spamming and posting offtopic like you just did, at the very least. But since we are good guys, we let people like you run your mouth when you are talking out of your ass.

Complaints & Suggestions / Re: Role indication within game
« on: February 13, 2020, 15:40 »
I like this suggestion, it was also recently applied to dota 2 and so far players have been loving it. Even though the role selection is great and all, it can be abused by players who will select support role then play as a carry for which we'll probably need to ban them which I don't mind tbh.

I don't think the change of the color even matter in this case, after players will join the lobby they will type in one of the following commands:

!sup = will play support
!sup = will play support
!carry = will play safelane carry
!mid = will play mid
!off = will play offlane

The game won't start before every player has typed in one of these commands in every team.
The problem is that not everyone knows how to play their role so we'll probably get flooded with reports for players not playing his role properly or who knows what, but I think the game quality can improve and it will be more fun for everyone if they knew what role they are supposed to play.
Another thing that might be needed to be added is that the top psr players in the lobby will have the priority to pick !mid or !carry in my opinion

I mean it's pretty much impossible to have everyone satisfied with the balancing system. The problem arises when on one team there's a group of 2-5 players who want to play together (whether they do it to gain easy psr or just want to have fun playing together doesn't really matter) and on the other side there are 5 solo players. Even if both of these teams have the same average psr, the team that has a group of friends in it will win most of the games.
Now, the easy and the obvious solution would be to match the team with a group of players (be that 3+2, 4+1 or 5) who play together versus another team with a group of players (be that 3+2, 4+1 or 5), but the problem is that we don't have nearly as many players to achieve something like that.
Another "solution" could be reducing the psr gain by half to the players who are locked together, but this doesn't really solve the problem of improving the game quality.

you don't have to feel down just because you won against 1400 psr players, hey a win is a win, a well deserved +1 psr. Some credits should go to this amazing clockwerk player, great moves, keep it up, i'll be cheering for you.

Every team needs a bright and intelligence team captain such as No_LifeR_xD to lead the team to victory by calmly explaining everyone's role and how to work together to become victorious even in the most dire straits. If only we could duplicate No_LifeR_xD's DNA and get another No_LifeR_xD so both teams can have one high skilled captain, I don't see any other way of balancing the games.

@nikolagay agree? :angel:

I mean they shouldn't be like some complicated big brains dota interactions that happen once in every 1k games.
These "tips" should probably be for your average dota player, like "you can use abaddon's ulti before you go low hp to dispel yourself from a stun" or something like "don't forget to always keep a TP to help your mid player when he gets ganked"

We do check players' history and their other accounts and ip ban them, we just don't go around making global announcements that player01 and all of his accounts: player02, player03, player04, player05, player06, player07, player08, player09 have been locked

What strict way would that even be? Do you want us to find their location and beat them up to teach them a lesson or would you like us to hire a behaviour therapist to "change their behavior"?

The toxicity exists in every game, especially in moba where people need to actually work together in order to win. Toxic players who ruin the game for the others get punished accordingly, we don't know the future if someone will decide to go full retard and run down mid to feed and ruin the game for the others, but the same thing happens in every single other moba out there. The important part is that yes, those players do get punished and will continue to get punished.

The rule is not being ignored, it's simply executed in private depending on the player's history. The rule clearly says that a player may get locked but that depends on different factors. We are not going to lock a player who has over 10k+ played games and left a single game, this is just an example, there are different factors that contribute here.

About the pretending part, let's not pretend you are a saint either, if we would be strict with the rules then you and your other 10+ accounts would have been banned long time ago.
