Title: The International 2018
Post by: jeandarc on August 08, 2018, 19:32
The Internationals always hold a special place in our heart and gets us excited and sometimes emotional.
The best players from all around the world gather up and play against each other to prove who is the best.
I encourage everyone from lagabuse.com to watch this tournament, even if you haven't played Dota 2 at all (there will be a beginner friendly stream where the commentators will explain things in more details). It's once in a year, so give it a try.

This year The International will be held in Vancouver, Canada.

OpenAI five for TI8 champion.
So these apparently happened. Short summary: a limited hero pool 5v5 AI that learned from scratch through self play. A team of pro scene personalities was pitted against it for BO3 and basically got steamrolled, except for that one game where audience picked 2k mmr lineup for bots. There was an audience game beforehand, but it ended with 9 min rax 13 min gg. Includes chat BM from both humans and bots.

(okay, to their credit, those instahexes are just plain unfair)

I'm honestly not sure who to cheer for this year.

Newbee is very ambitious, so they are my favourite. I can tell without even thinking that EG will not win.

@div.ide i watched those AI games and yeah that hex was a game winning xd
I mean it might seem unfair but even a human has a chance to do that if he expects thr blink from the ES by spam casting the hex whetr he predicts ES will jump xd

@ExpertNoob eg are actually looking very strong after their roster change. They just won a mini tournament by stomping teams like fnatic and optic gaming with ease.

I've seen those games and yes, the insta hex was killer move. Ofc that's advantage of AI, basically no reaction time.

I'm Team Liquid's fan for some time already. But I'm also looking forward to see EG, PSG.LGD and Virtus.Pro.

@Happy.. You can also watch it ingame, with chance to win some items.

What are your predictions in battle pass (most kills, shortest game and so on)? I haven't done that yet, gotta look into that soon.

For some reason i feel like chinese teams are strong but they like to practise and be good-amazing on what did  they practise  but now dota is going myb too fast for them, again who knows they can find some secret formula and win. My opinion is this year is once again EU winning team,is that Secret , VP or Liquid dota. My vote will go for Liquid bcoz im a fan of Kuroky for long time before he was in liquid and Matumbaman xD

All this sick #productionvalue from a small indie company.

Also, what happened with Fnatic - Liquid game 2? Took a quick nap after pick phase to suddenly come back to 24-1 (that minutes later turned into 39-1 gg)? Just what the heck did I miss?

liquid haven't changed their strat at all, they play around miracle by creating space for him. if miracle doesn't have a good game then their team usually crumbles. that's what happened that game in a nutshell. he played husk vs clinkz mid and even his sups couldnt help him stay in lane so he eventually was forced to jungle.
I'm pretty sure liquid has a higher win rate when miracle plays pos1 instead of pos2.
I wouldn't have been surprised if fnatic 2-0 them actually, they were pretty close to winning the first game too. I actually couldn't stop laughing when I saw EE-sama going for those t4 towers and dying

all games from group stage of liquid/lgd/vp/eg are worth watching, these are the best 4 teams

probably the best ti since ti3. this ti had everyhing; the drama between OG and EG, the comebacks, the underdog story, the lost friendships, the betrayal, the revenge of notail, exciting finale. punks are satified.
